A 2014 desk-based assessment of Ridge View School site on Higham Lane to the north-west noted that the "Fish Hall, was the estate of John de Fisher in the 13th or 14th century, free fishing rights having been granted to him by Gilbert de Clare (Hastead 1798) and may have included Greater Fish Hall (outside the study area) and Little Fish Hall." It is possible that the site could have medieval origians therefore (3).
