Full Description
TR 320 704 Romano-British burials and finds. In 1925 human skeletal material and coins were found on the beach below the cliffs. Dr A. Rowe investigated and found graves on the cliff top, the positions of some of of the skeletons indicating a hasty burial (battle victims?). In 1986, TAU discovered several more unexcavated graves. (1). Roman sherds found in beach deposits here, eroded from cemetery? (2).
