Monument record TQ 83 NE 204 - Town Mill, Biddenden post-medieval windmill
Summary
A smock built in the early 19th century. During it's lifetime, the mill was raised onto a brick base. After the mill ceased work in 1914, the base was converted into a house. A corn windmill is shown on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map of c.1961 and is still present on the 3rd edition of c.1922. The site was located to the south extent of the town and the area is now at the edge of a recreation ground. Little else is known about the history of the mill itself.
