Summary

A corn windmill is shown on the 1st edition Ordnance survey map of c.1861 at High Halden. The site is still visible on the 3rd edition map of c.1922 and the area is now known as Millfield indicating the former use of the site.

Full Description

A post mill built in the late 18th-early19th century. The mill building was raised in 1845, with the windshaft being replaced by an iron one in 1865. The mill ceased work in 1918 and was demolished in the 1920's, although the base was roofed over to be used as a store (1)
