Full Description
A smock mill dated to the early 19th century. It is unclear when the mill ceased work, although it was still working in 1892 when several new parts were fitted. However, by 1933, the remains of the mill had been converted into a labourers cottage after the main body of the mill was demolished, (1-2) Shipley Hatch corn mill is depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map of c.1861. The site is not labelled on the 4th edition map of c.1931 suggesting that it had fallen out of use by this time.
