Full Description
57 Brigade 8x7.3 inch battery, no. R22, ID by CBA.
Site of Second World War heavy anti aircraft (Diver) battery at Walland Marsh, deployed here by 23rd August 1944. It was progressively equipped with eight 3.7-inch Mark IIc static guns on Pile platforms, Predictor AA No.10 and Radar AA No.3 Mark V radars, and was manned by 410 Battery of 124 Anti Aircraft Artillery Regiment, (replaced by 536 Battery of 145 (mobile) Anti Aircraft Regiment on 29th August 1944). This formed part of the Rye Section of 57 Anti Aircraft Brigade Heavy Anti Aircraft Artillery. (1)
