Full Description
Site of former hop pickers huts north west of Mereworth House, Laddingford. The huts are possibly visible on the Tithe map of 1840, although it is unclear whether the drawn lines represent a structure or enclosure. By the time of the first edition Ordnance Survey map (1862 - 1875) three separate structures are clearly visible. An additional structure subsequently appears on the second edition OS map (1897 - 1900). The hoppers huts are visble on the aerial photographs in the 1940s; however, they are not shown on the 1990 aerial photos.
