Smallholding (now The Cottage) south west of Stockholme Villa, Halstead. The first edition Ordnance Survey map (1862 - 1875) shows the site under woodland, on the eastern edge of Great Stockholme Wood. By the time of the second edition OS map (1897 - 1900) the woodland has been greatly reduced and this particular site cleared. The smallholding is shown as an enclosure with two buildings; one is L-shaped the other structure to the south is square in shape. The third edition OS map (1907 - 1923) shows the square structure extended to the south doubling its size. The structure appears on the aerial photographs for the 1940s, although is subsequently demolished sometime after 1947.
