Full Description
Hop pickers’ huts north/northwest of Canon Court. The buildings are first recorded in the 1st edition OS Map, suggesting an initial date of construction in the middle of the nineteenth century. Additional structures are recorded in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th editions of the OS, suggesting that the site was continually developed through the later nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. A series of huts are visible in the 1940s aerial photographs, but are no longer visible by 1990, so therefore appear to have been demolished in the second half of the twentieth century.
