Full Description
Former site of an oasthouse to the west of Baynards Cottage. The building first appears as a rectangular structure in the 1st edition OS map, suggesting it was built in the middle of the nineteenth century. A single roundel appears to have been added by the time of the 2nd edition OS at the end of the nineteenth century, and it is also recorded as such in the 3rd and 4th editions. The oasthouse is visible in the 1940s aerial photographs, but not in those of 1990, suggesting it was demolished in the second half of the twentieth century.
Identified by the Historic Farmsteads Survey. (1)
