Full Description
Former site of an oasthouse at Cherry Orchard Farm. The building is first recorded as a rectangular structure without roundels in the 1797 OS drawings and 1845 tithe map of West Farleigh, suggesting it was probably constructed in the eighteenth century. It is recorded as having two roundels in the 1st edition OS Map, and also appears as such in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th editions. The building is visible in the 1940s aerial photographs, but only its remains are visible in the photographs of 1990 onwards, suggesting it was abandoned in the second half of the twentieth century.
