Full Description

Area I was a portion of the Grain-Shorne pipeline in a valley bottom north of the village of Cliff Woods excavated in 2008.

A hollow way crossed the site, over 30m being exposed, it was 9m wide. A copper alloy brooch of late 5th to early 6th century date and a dark blue translucent annular bead were found within the feature. Also found, in the upper silts of the hollow way, was a dog skeleton. (1-2)
