Full Description

On the first edition Ordnance Survey map (1862-75) there are two rectangular buildings running at right angles to the field boundaries and two smaller buildings, the south aligned parallel to the boundary.

On the second edition Ordnance Survey map (1897-1900), a fifth, much smaller structure has been added to the south west of the site.

The third edition Ordnance Survey map (1907-23) shows that two additional structures have been added to the top and bottom of the first two, creating a square of huts. On the east and west of this ‘central square’, two more buildings have been erected. Between the western most structure and central block, a row of four small square buildings have been added (possible toilet blocks). On the eastern side of the block there are two small square buildings, between the central block and the eastern structure.

From the aerial survey of the 1940s, a rectangular and a large square building have been erected on the west of the site and three small square (toilet blocks) have been build in the central square.

All buildings have been demolished before the 1990 aerial survey.

Identified by the Historic Farmsteads Survey. (1)
