The stables at Great Burlings appear to have housed a coach house with stabling for carriage horses at the other end rather than plough horses. The building dates from the … [mid 19th century, it is not depicted on the tithe map of 1844] and is a simple single storey brick building in stretcher bond with a hipped tiled roof. The brickwork to the western half of the south side was replaced in the later C20 and the stable doors and coach doors were also replaced in the C20. Internally the roof structure with rustic poles and corner dragon ties survives, also vertical planks to prevent the horses damaging the walls and a plank partition between stables and coach house. However no stall partitions, mangers or feed boxes survive.

The stables at Great Burlings, … [mid 19th century (post 1844)] single storey brick building with hipped slate roof built for a coach and coach horses, is not recommended for statutory listing for the following principal reasons:
* Architectural: a plain single storey brick building of modest architectural quality;
* Degree of alteration: the western half of the front or south wall was replaced in the later C20 and the stable and coach doors are also C20. Internally, although the roof structure, some vertical plank panelling and an internal partition survive there are no stall partitions, mangers or feed boxes;
* Group value: the main house is not being recommended for statutory listing. (1)
