Full Description

The Wateringbury Tithe map of the 1840s may show two hop pickers huts, located parallel to the road. These buildings appear to be connected on the first edition Ordnance Survey map (1862-75) and a new structure has been erected along the eastern field boundary.
In the late nineteenth century (Second edition OS map 1897-1900), these two buildings are connected and a rectangular building to the south of the site has been erected. This southerly building has an additional structure added in the early twentieth century (shown on the third edition Ordnance Survey map).
Also in the early twentieth century (after the fourth edition Ordnance Survey map of 1929-53, but before the 1940 aerial survey), the buildings in the corner of the field have been demolished, along with one of the southern structures.
All the buildings have however, demolished before the 1990 aerial photographic survey.
