Full Description
A pear-shaped stone sinker with a perforation for suspension and a distinctive carved coil decoration, which is clearly from New Zealand rather than from Europe. It is recorded as dredged up near Kentish Knock Buoy, in the Thames Estuary to the north of Broadstairs, in September 1868. It was acquired by Pitt-Rivers, probably during a trip to Thanet in late September 1868.
