In 2006 Swale and Thames Archaeological Survey Company carried out an evaluation. A gully was found with sherds from a vessel of Tyler Hill shell-dusted sandy ware (c.1225-1250). (1)

In 2007 Swale and Thames Archaeological Survey Company carried out an excavation. This feature does not appear to have been observed at this time. A post hole was recorded and dated to "either the medieval or post medieval period… it was considered more likely associated with the later 20th century
development of the airfield". (2)
