Full Description
"A large deposit of silver coins, of the dates of Charles I and II, was found here a few years since." This apparently came from in or near to the earthwork on Shottenden Hill, Perry Wood. (1)
The hoard consisted of five pounds in weight of silver coins of Henry VIII and Edward VI in a pot. It was found by a labourer in October 1848. (2)
