Summary

57 Brigade 8x7.3 inch battery, no. R27, ID by CBA. Site of Second World War heavy anti aircraft (Diver) battery at Ivychurch, deployed here by 23rd August 1944. It was progressively equipped with eight 3.7-inch Mark IIc static guns on Pile platforms, Predictor AA No.10 and Radar AA No.3 Mark V radars, and was manned by 412 Battery of 124 Anti Aircraft Artillery Regiment. Unusually, it was listed as vacant on 29th August 1944, when it was anticipted that 507 Battery of 149 (Mobile) Anti Aircraft Artillery Regiment woul d be in place on 10th September. This formed part of the Rye Section of 57 Anti Aircraft Brigade Heavy Anti Aircraft Artillery.
