Full Description

Second World War trench air raid shelter on the east side of Stanhope Road, Swanscombe, Kent. Started late 1939 and finished with concrete linings in January, 1940. Design and longevity unknown. Believed to have surveived into the 1960s. (1-2) the site of a possible ditch is visible running from Stanhope Road towards the east on the 1946 Aerial photographs of the area. (3)
