Full Description
Second World War underground air raid wardens post mentioned in 1939 as having been at The Island, The Avenue, Greenhithe, Kent. Precise location is not confirmed but this might have been the traffic island at the south end of the Avenue where there was probably space for a dugout type, then not uncommon. This must later have been replaced by the concrete post a short distance away near the south side of the London Road. No other details known. (1)
