Full Description
Second World War Defended Locality DL102 at Wilmington, nr. Dartford, Kent. It was probably designated in 1940 and would have been decommissioned by early 1944. The nature of the defences is unknown. Nothing is known to remain. The defences would have been concerned with the defence of cross roads to impede road access towards London. The garrison was 133, with 107 rifles, 4 BLA, 1 Northover Projector and 12 TGs (Home Guard). In addition, 36 troops with 35 rifles and 3 Lewis guns were available from a nearby searchlight battery.
