St. Vincent's Industrial School moved to this site in 1878. It was used for civil defence purposes during the Second World War. The buildings were demolished in the second half of the 20th century.

It was used as an alternative civil defence control centre for Dartford Borough. This had been approved by the Regional Commissioner and a tender for the work was accepted in April, 1943, presumably leading to completion of the adaptation work to be done to the premises. No other details are known. (1)

A Rest and Emergency Feeding Centre was set up in 1941 at St. Vincent's School. NFS were given permission to use the kitchen and dining room of the school, resulting in the facility being available in case of need. No other details are known. (2)

The school was also used to store furniture from bombed houses. No other details are known. (3)
