Full Description
The site was excavated by Oxford Archaeology in 2009. A small quantity of Neolithic worked flints was found in later features. These included scrapers and a polished axe with evidence of reworking. Other waste flakes could date to this period. This is indicative of Neolithic activity having occurred in the area. The axehead was found in a Late Iron Age context and could have been curated. (1-2)
