Full Description
A cropmark of a possible moated site is visible in aerial photos of 1961, 1990, 2003 and 2008, to the southeast of Postling Wents, by Cowtye Wood.
It is clearest in the aerial photo of 1961 when it appears to be in the process of being ploughed out. Nothing is clearly visible on the earlier photos of the 1940s. It is a rectangular enclosure c.60m x 40m, possibly with a large causeway on the eastern side. The ditch is perhaps 7m or 8m wide. The Tithe Map of Saltwood shows a pond and two trees in what would be the central portion of the platform.
