Full Description
A cropmark visible in aerial photos of 1990, 1999 and 2012 to the northwest of Heppington Farm.
It is roughly rectangular with rounded corners. It appears clearest as a positive cropmark on aerial photos of 2012. There does not appear to be a ditch on the south-western side. The north-western corner is almost a right angle. The north-eastern corner is more rounded and the ditch appears to widen at this point. There is a possible causeway on the eastern side. The ditch curves from this point towards the south-western corner (there is no south-eastern corner) where there is another apparent causeway. The enclosure is c.50m x 40m across.
A second enclosure is shown on the NMP plot to the west but is not visible on any aerial photos. A linear cropmark is also plotted to the north and is visible on aerial photos.
