Full Description

Three air raid shelters were built at Bowaters Paper Mill during the Second World War. No. 1 Shelter was built below a yard on the southern side of the site. It consisted of a series of connected corridors with two access ramps. No. 2 and No. 3 Shelter were located beneath the enclosed yard at the centre of the paper mill and the coal bunker on the northern side of the paper mill. (1)
