Full Description
In 2011 Dover Archaeological Group carried out a fieldwalking survey. A scatter of worked flints was collected from the field. Nearly 400 pieces were found with a concentration in some of the 30m survey grid squares. Most pieces were flakes but there were also a number of scrapers, notched flakes and piercers/awls. Amongst the cores there was one blade core. It is thought that the material may include pieces of Mesolithic date but was mostly Late Neolithic-Bronze Age date. A large number of calcined flints were also collected from across the field. (1)
