Full Description
In 2009/10 Archaeology South-East carried out a strip, map and sample excavation. A cremation burial with a vessel in a second pit and two possible marker posts was found on the northern part of the site. The cremation was of an adult and had been deposited in a small pit. Immediately adjacent there was a second pit with a complete 1st century AD early Roman bead-rimmed jar. The vessel had been packed around with flint cobbles. The post holes contained no dating material. (1)
