Summary
In July 1896, it was decided that electric traction trams would be adopted in Dover. Construction was started by March 1897, it was the second tramway system to be built in the UK and the trams ran until 1936. the route is visible on a number of historic OS maps dating to the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
