Full Description
In 2013 Wardell Armstrong Archaeology carried out a magnetometry survey. The southern portion of a possible ring ditch was detected as positive magnetic anomaly on the northern edge of the survey area to the east, which is likely to represent another soil-filled ring ditch or small enclosure. This feature measured c.21m in diameter with no obvious entrance on the south side. The north side of this feature lay outside of the survey area, and was also not clearly defined due to magnetic disturbance relating to the modern service pipe. (1)
A ring ditch forming part of a round barrow of Bronze Age date was visible as a cropmark in RAF/HLA/564 V 6043 01-JUN-1942. This feature was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (2)
