Full Description
A rectilinear enclosure is visible as a cropmark in a Google Earth image of 2013. It is 33mx81m. One interruption on one side of the enclosure.
A large rectangular or possibly trapezoidal enclosure is visible as cropmarks on air photographs taken July 16th 2001. Aligned nw-se, it is circa 84 metres long by a minimum of 29 metres wide. The long southwest-facing side is not visible. Neither are the southwestern ends of both short sides. The enclosure sits in the southeastern corner of a field, and consequently the sw side may be represented by the modern field boundary. A clear entrance can be seen at what is presumed to be the mid-point of the shorter se-facing side, while a narrower gap is visible along the course of the longer ne-facing side. The three visible sides suggest a broadly rectangular shape overall, though if the missing side does lie close to or beneath the modern field boundary then the enclosure's shape would be markedly trapezoidal, with the broader end to the southeast. The location and relationship with modern field boundaries might suggest a relatively recent date, although this is speculation. (1)
