Full Description
Battery plotting room, part of South Foreland Battery. The room was where radar and other information was concentrated and then target information sent to the guns. Access was via a vertical shaft. The plotting room consisted of a number of gas decontamination chambers, the plotting room and ventilation fans and filters. There was also an emergency exit via a small shaft. The room is located underground and is no longer accessible.
The plotting room was next to the observation post where visual information was recorded and fed to the plotting room. The observation post was a separate two-storey above-ground building but nothing remains. (1)
