Full Description
Underground Second World War shelter provided for personnel at South Foreland Battery. It was located c. 13 m underground and had three entrances. This was the main shelter for South Foreland Battery and could hold numerous personnel. It also contained the Battery First Aid Post (almost a small hospital). It was lined with mining hoops for strength (c. 3 m across). (1)
