Full Description
This inn stood in Burgate on the corner of Iron Bar Lane until its destruction by enemy action in 1942.
The inn was known as the CROWN ALE house in the 18th century and belonged to the City Corporation. In 1800 a City rent book stated the inn had been sold to Baldock and Rigden for £7.10.0d.
