Full Description
Deep section of brickearth with "bones of elephant, rhino, horse and ox" plus shells of "Pupa" and Cyclas", recorded by TH Hughes of Geological Survey in later 19th C "near engine house north-east of Murston" (1). Engine house is shown at NGR 592275 164785 on 1885 OS survey at 1:2500, with north-south standing section of brick pit c. 50m to its east
