Full Description

A Whitbread House inn.

The Mill House was apparently built at the same time as the barracks in St. Martin's Hill.

When Mr & Mrs P. Howard took over as innkeepers in 1963 they were surprised to discover that the Mill House had three bars. The third bar disappeared during extensive alterations and Mr Howard thought that as the inn had been built at the same time as the barracks three bars had been built to cater for the privates, NCO's and the officers.

Apparently there was an older Mill House which stood next to the road - nearly opposite the windmill.
