Full Description
The Canterbury UAD states that little is known of this inn, however the Dane John Tavern appears to have nineteenth century origins as a tavern.
In 1931 Mrs A. C. Miles is shown as licensee in Kelly's Directory for 1939; in Kelly' Directory for 1939 Percival Whiteheadf is listed as licensee.
During the Second World War the tavern was seriously bomb damaged by enemy action and was subsequently demolished. The site was purchased by the Coporation and included in the large Watling Street car-park.
