Full Description

The Riding Gate inn was originally built in the early nineteenth century and was named after the adjacent City gate, which has long since gone.

The inn was closed and subsequently demolished in 1955 to make way for the Riding Gate roundabout to allow access to the new bus station in nearby St. George's Lane.

The actual date of the first licence issue is not known at present.
