Full Description
The Canterbury UAD states that very little is known about this old inn. Enderby notes that the 1753 Kentish Post announced that 'John Shrubsole late a Brewer to Mr Jones of this City intends to brew at people's houses. He is to be spoken with at the Ship and Sailor in Watling Street'.
No other details have been found, however it does not appear in Pigot's Directory of 1828-29 or their Directory for 1832-34, thus it must have closed before 1828.
It exact location is not known other than in Watling Street, so a token position has been given on mapinfo.
