Full Description

During 2002 GSB Prospection carried out a geophysical survey within the King's School Playing Field, within the walled gardens to the east and in two small areas of open ground to the north. This showed a long complex building range running E-W immediately adjacent to the east side of the Misirecord, which could possibly be the Lodgings of Peter of Dene's. Further to the east and extending southwards are two or three long pathways or walls on a N-S axis?

Further to the west between the Great Dorter to the west and the Infirmary Hall to the east another series of walls indicating perhaps various service rooms were located. At present none of these features are dated for any certainty, however it seem likely that the building to the east of the Misirecord is Dene's Lodgings and if so it would be of early 14th century date. The pathways/walls further east may be part of the later garden's established soon after the Dissolution. The buldings to the west of the Infirmary may relate to early 14th century additions to the kitchen and stores area of the Infirmary complex.
