Full Description
The Boundary Wall was erected around the circuit of the Priory in the mid 12th century during a time of great expansion. Very little is known about the wall and it is only accurately plotted on the west side. However it is crudely shown on Prior Wibert's Map of the Cathedral's Waterwork's, dated 1165, where it is shown with a crenallated top. Presumably the wall was largely demolished at the Dissolution.
