Monument record TR 15 NW 1710 - Kitchen, Dominican Friary (Blackfriars)

Summary

The Kitchen was situated at the west end of the North Range of the conventual buildings, immediately north and adjoining the Refectory. Rectangular shaped in plan it measured approximately 30 feet long E-W by about 26 feet wide N-S. Built in c. 1259, this is confirmed by a grant of £20 for building the kitchen and the wall next to it made in 1259. The building were generally dismantled at the Dissolution in c. 1538.
