Full Description
The Dorter, or Friars Dormitory was situated within the north range and taking up most of it. Built over a large and long undercroft, it was rectangular shaped in plan measuring approximately 100 feet in length E-W by about 27 feet in width N-S and may have had some first floor connection to the reredorter (latrine block) immediately to the north-west. Probaly built about the same time as the rest of the conventual building in about c. 1260. Immediately to the south lay the cloister, with perhaps a warming room and store rooms situated within the undercroft at ground level. The buildings were demolished at the Dissolution in c. 1538.
