Full Description
In c. 1324, a house of Augustinian (or Austin Friars) also known as Whitefriars, was established on the west side of St. Georges Street. Excavations between 2000 and 2004 have revealed many aspects of the friary church and conventual buildings. At present the details are undergoing study and no definate details about the structures can be given yet. A brief report on this work has appeared in the CAT Annual reports 2000-2001; 2001-2002; 2002-2003. Etc.
