Summary

Cogan's Hospital was originally founded by William Cokyn shortly before 1203 in St. Peter's Street, Canterbury, this was later to known as Cogan's Hospital. The residents of the hospital were moved to new premises in London Road, St. Dunstan's in 1870, and the original Cogan's House in St. Peter's Street was sold to Thomas Wells a tailor and outfitter.

Full Description

Cogan's Hospital was originally founded by William Cokyn shortly before 1203 in St. Peter's Street, Canterbury, this was later to known as Cogan's Hospital.

The residents of the hospital were moved to new premises in London Road, St. Dunstan's in 1870, and the original Cogan's House in St. Peter's Street was sold to Thomas Wells a tailor and outfitter.

The present Cogan's Hospital consists of six almshouses with a precinct on the north side of the London Road, being Nos. 41 to 46. The are arranged in three blocks of two within a large square precinct.
