Blue Plaque on 16 Southeastern Road, erected by the Ramsgate Society to Sybil Burr (1909-2002) Novelist, who lived here 1955-1960.
She was a fairly prolific author of girls' stories in the 1950s. She is best known for her book Life with Lisa, the fictional diary of a 12-year-old girl whose vivid account and comments on her neighbours and surroundings was later reprinted by Puffin Books (1979) and adapted for Radio 4 in 2003.
The plaque was unveiled on Saturday 19th February 2011 by Sybil's son, William, and Lucy Mangan from The Guardian.
