Monument record TR 15 NW 1733 - Prehistoric Enclosure Ditch (10-11 Castle Street)

Summary

Between 1950-1 Frank Jenkins and John Boyle excavated on the site of 10-11 Castle Street and revealed the end of a large Iron Age ditch, with palisade, containing pottery dating to c. 300BC. A fragment of Roman flint masonry was also seen.
