Monument record TR 15 NE 1412 - Prehistoric palisade trench, south of St. Pancras Chapel, St. Augustine's
Summary
In an excavation (presumably for non archaeological reasons?) undertaken by the Ministry of Works (?) to the south of St Pancras Chapel the Roman street leading to Burgate was exposed. A palisade trench with post-holes, of Late Iron Age Date c. Late 1st century to AD 43, was observed on the south side of the street.
