Full Description
Archaeology South-East was commissioned by Faithful+Gould Ltd on behalf of Kent County Council to undertake an evaluation of ten trenches at Five Acre Wood School, Maidstone in advance of refurbishment and extension of the existing school, between 18th and 22nd August 2014. A single undated posthole was observed at the east end of Trench 1. It had a sub-circular shape and measured 0.24m x 0.22m and 0.15m deep. It contained a single fill of mid greyish-brown silty clay with moderate charcoal flecks, presumably remnants of the original post. No further archaeological features were observed. (1, 2)
